Sending Advanced SMS messages using CLI mode dedicated GSM USB device

Today I will show how to send SMS using advanced features supported by Gammu.

1. “Replace Messages” Sending SMS with same ID so they are overwritten

Gammu allow you to send SMS with same ID to replace them, this is useful, when you send some final status which can change in time,
but you are interesting only in resulted final state.

-replacemessages ID – ID can be 1..7. When you will use option and send more single SMS to one recipient with the same ID,
each another SMS will replace each previous with the same ID

gammu --sendsms text 603111111 -replacemessages 1
Enter message text and press ^D:
Gammu test
If you want break, press Ctrl+C...
Sending SMS 1/1....waiting for network answer..OK, message reference=7

2. “On Screen only” Sending SMS with are displayed only on receiver Phone screen

Gammu allow you to send On Screen messages, which are not saved in inbox.
Nice option for just informational type messages.

-flash – SMS will use Class 0
(should be displayed after receiving on recipients’ phone display after receiving without entering Inbox)

gammu --sendsms text 603111111 -flash
Enter message text and press ^D:
Gammu Flash test
If you want break, press Ctrl+C...

3. “Long messages” Sending longer SMS by splitting/linking them

Create text in UNICODE with virtual keyboards
