Modern services delivered in Software As a Service(SaaS) model as Multi-tenant applications need also specific development methods to fit this new ecosystems.

To better understand Evolutionary Development (EVO) model, we need to look on group of Spiral Models

Spiral Models are first iterative based SW development models with half year period 🙂 .

Modern services delivered in Software As a Service(SaaS) model as Multi-tenant applications need also specific development methods to fit this new ecosystems.

One of possible models is Evolutionary SW Development EVO Highly Incremental Model from HP

EVO uses small, incremental product releases, frequent delivery to users, and dynamic plans and processes.

Enlil Network Emulator: OpenWRT 10.03.1 Backfire willl have IPv6 support enabled by default

Filed under: Enlil Network Emulator — natiku @ 7:30 am

Upcoming OpenWRT Backfire Interim Release 1 (10.03.1) will have IPv6 support enabled by default, OpenWRT is proven IP6 solution so I will add samples of IPv6 usage to Enlil too.

Many my colleagues see a IPv4 Address space exhaustion as similar buzz as pandemic Mexican Flu, but true is then IPv4 Exhaustion Counter shows today only a 5% addresses left.

So it’s time to investigate if your infrastructure will be ready for future IPv6 migration and OpenWRT can represent an ideal cheap learning tool for IPv6 migration.

Tips&Tricks: Using various Firefox plugins for initial testing of Mobile Projects

Filed under: FireFox Plug-Ins, Tips Tricks — natiku @ 8:38 am

Probably the optimum testing method for a mobile site is:

* Test the site in a desktop browser first to ensure functionality behaves as expected
* Once the site is functionally complete, test using some device emulators
* When the site is working correctly across all emulators, begin testing on real handsets

Enlil Network Emulator: Fist Touch – Netboot of Microtik RB450G with stock OpenWRT Backfire 10.03 image

Filed under: Enlil Network Emulator — natiku @ 4:20 pm

This entry is part of Enlil Handy Network Emulator

I will boot my RB450G with stock OpenWRT Backfire 10.03 image, as part of this First Touch, I will configure all needed stuff for RB450G netboot on Ubuntu 10.03.
Booting a stock OpenWRT Backfire 10.03 image with netboot is know to be relatively safe and don’t harm device or pre-installed Microtik RouterOS.

Process of netboot – booting of combined kernel image + root disk in elf format – is used later as a first step in RB450G kernel + rootfs transferring,
so I will also include some debugging tips here. New RouterBOOT versions are capable to boot with new method of DHCP + TFTP, no need to setting up old bootp service.
